Bloggers Block.
Thats where i am right now.
Having said that i do have some game reviews for you as i bought a load with my crimbo stash. For those of you who havn't guessed they are all Wii games.
1. Big Brain academy
Having played on the Brain training that vic got with her DS i was really looking forward to having a crack at the Wii version. I was not dissapointed.
The graphics are very kiddy and cartoony but dont let this put you off, some of the tests are devilishly hard especially as you progress through the rankings. Set up to be like a school (it's in the title) You are scored with a grade and a ranking which keeps it simple when bragging to your friends. The main test is made up of several parts that test everything from your memory to computing skills. There is also a practice section to hone your skills if you are having a particular difficulty in one area.
Equipped also with a multiplayer mode with three game options it also gives you the ability to play against opponents and other records stored at the academy.
Scores:
Graphics 8/10 May be a little too kiddy looking for some.
Gameplay 10/10,
Longevity 9/10 Once you have a brain the size of a planet let me know.
2. Rampage: Total destruction
Many of you will remember the origonal Rampage well this is a suped up version. Basicly you are a big mutant and you get to smash stuff and earn points.
There are little missions within that give you bonuses and extra abilites but for the most part it is about smashing things. It is one of thoses games that you will play laike a deamon for about an hour then will abbandon for a week or so before you have another blast. The game play is a little monotonus but great for releving tension every so often, it also has a multiplayer option for thoses after pub nights and for a tenner who can complain.
Scores:
Graphics 8/10 Very pretty but gets a little samey.
Gameplay 7/10 As above.
Longevity 7/10 A little monotinous for me best played in stints or with mates.
3. Call of duty 3
What can i say it is call of duty. Now outdated by number 4 but still a cracking game.
Shoot Germans, chuck grendades and do all the things that make this a great in the game world. Unfortunatly like all the others there is the little issue of scenery hangup and i did need to dial down the motes sensetivity to stop myself spinning in circles every time i looked left or right but the first time i played it i seemed to loose 3hrs of my life with out even realising. A cracking game.
Scores:
Graphics 9/10
Gameplay 10/10
Longevity 8/10 Once you have completed it it is on to the next.
4. Links Crossbow training Inc. Wii Zapper.
Ok Lets face it the main reason for buying this game is for the zapper. The game is great fun and a good way to hone your shooting skills but essentialy once you have completed it there is not much more to do.
The game is a series of shooting gallery with static and moving targets and a few moving courses, It is great laugh and the multiplayer adds another level to it as well. Do not spend more than the rrp of £19.99 for this.
Scores:
Graphics 9/10,
Gameplay 8/10,
Longevity 6/10.
Thats all folks.
