Feeling grown up.
I am now settled into my new job with Smallprint and feel it is high time i started posting again and tell you all about it.

The story so far:

Let us go back a few weeks to the final week of me working at the Bristol old vic.

Week 1: Building work still ongoing at house.

Sunday - Get a call from one of my mums careers to say she has taken a tumble down the stairs and is in hospital with a broken hip while my step dad is in the Caribbean (flown out that day).
Monday - Mad dash to Cornwall to see mum. I say mad, but don't really equate it with the UK train system, Total journey time 7hrs due to delays. Drive time 3.
Tuesday - Visit mum, Work on Smallprint US site that is due to go live on Saturday and try to sort major security issue with UK site (Thank god for rob) all with no Internet access.
Wednesday - Dash back home to work.
Thursday - Argument with work over hours. I win.
Friday - Breath
Saturday - Finally finish with the Bristol old vic, Smallprint US site up and happy.
Sunday - Breath

Week 2: Building work still going on at home.

Monday - Start Jury service, Sit around all day in a room full of people reading a book. You cannot believe how boring this actually is.
Tuesday - Sit around in a room reading a book until being told to go home and phone in on the following Tuesday.
Wednesday - Start clearing Spare room of boxes so it can be turned into an office. Now have main bedroom masquerading as storage container.
Thursday - Start stripping wallpaper, Opening up fireplace, Closing up fireplace and ignoring.
Wall paper stripped, carpet stripped.
Friday - Sanding lost and lots of sanding. Filling, LOTS of filling (if you have ever stripped a Lime plaster covered wall you will know what i mean). Discover crack in wall out side of Spare room door frame. defiantly wasn't there a year ago. Got into loft above rear extension. Why is there a 2ft gap between the rear of the house and the Extension.

I must stop here and explain a little. When we looked around the house we noticed that the rear extension was on a slight angle and that subsidence was a possible cause. We photographed all the points we were worried about and got the surveyor to look at them. We were told that it was historic and that the was no need to worry.

Saturday - Spend most of the day Worrying and stop all work on the spare room until the builders are back on Tuesday.
Easter Sunday - Chocolate egg hunt in the garden with poppy. Trip to B&Q to buy paint. Take out New mortgage to buy paint (£25 for a pot of white emulsion). Spend pointless time trying to stop poppy eating her own body weight in chocolate. Give up. watch as small sugar fulled blur annihilates house. Worry.

Week 3: Building work still going on at home.

Bank holiday Monday - REALLY grumpy child, REALLY grumpy adults. Worry.
Tuesday - Builder takes one look at it and says "don't worry, Its old and not going anywhere". Start painting.
Wednesday - More painting.
Thursday - More painting. Ahhh Robs coming tomorrow.
Friday - Give up painting in favour of tiding, waiting for carpet fitters to arrive. Rob has landed Vic has gone into tidy overdrive. Carpet in. Rob arrives. Working dinner on Smallprint project
Saturday - Working day. Dinner cooked by rob (lovely spag bol). Very long and very enjoyable UT04 game till 2am Followed by Dr who.
Sunday - Big breakfast fry up at the lockside with rob followed by a fairly relaxing day and more UT in the eve.

From then on it has been Painting, and decking out the office/spare room with desk, computer, white board, year planner etc. and working. All of witch has made me feel far to grown up.

That's it for now but there will be more to come very soon.
