Ohhhhh total lack of posting, This is due to me working eves and not getting home from work till late and the fact that vic's new business has taken off and she has needed all the help she can get.

Anyway I am back now and thought I would start with a meme, so here goes.

"Im sorry this file is corrupt"
"Im sorry this program closed because (insert reason)"

All these are examples of usefull error messages. They tell you there is a problem and what the problem might be.

"(insert program) has sufferd a serious error would you like to send a report."

Is not helpful, in fact it is totally useless when you are trying to chase down an issue.
For instance the other week I was trying to convert a home movie from .avi to .vob, when the program I was using froze and took ages to finaly reset itself and give me windows helpful message.
After trying with a couple of other programs and a bit of searching I finally found out that the file had corrupted while rendering and all I had to do wad re render the file.

It does seem to me that windows has not really moved on from the
"You have performed an illegal operation"
demand of '95 & '98. You wolud have thought we would have made a little progress.

Been very busy.
