Oh my god

This is getting boring now. I am still in the tech.

Usual tech:
Wednesday; 9am - 10pm technical rehersal.
Thursday; 9 - 10 technical rehersal
Friday; 9 - 1 tech rehersal, 2 - 5.30 dress rehersal, 7-10 public preview.
Saturday; 11 - 1 tidying up, 2 - 5 2nd dress, 7 - 10 public preview.

This one:
Wednesday
; 9am - 10pm technical rehersal.
Thursday; 9 - 10 technical rehersal

Just managing to finish bloody act1 by the end of thursday, no way we were going to finish act 2 by 1 on friday so the public preview was canclled.

Friday; 9am - 10pm technical rehersal.
Saturday; 9 - 1 finish tech, 2 -5 dress rehersal, 7 - 10 1st public preview.

Yeah right, it will be a bloody miracle if we make that.
So im sat here in the dark, on side stage, bored out of my skull, on a saturday morning, having not seen my little girl for the better part of four days wondering if this really was the best choice of carrer.

Mini rant.

I have decided that the busses in this city no longer have routes and stops they just have migratoty patterns.
All I need to do now is work out where there watering holes are and leap on when I get a chance.
Either that or get a motor bike.

Show me the way to go home.

Well its tech time again here at the old vic and unfortunatly I am working this one, so that's my evenings gone for the next three weeks.
This show does look like it will be an interesting one though, sporting 10 pyro charges, projection, loads of flying pieces including a giant propeller blade and lots more. I must admit that I have never seen Dr Faustus before and am quite intrigued and I get to blow stuff up,which is a bonus.
Coupled with that my computer has been taken rather ill and keeps switching off seconds into it's startup, hopefully it is just the psu and should be repaired by the weekend because the alternatives are are little to expensive to contemplate.
I am however getting computer withdrawl symptoms, have been using vics laptop but is just not the same.
On a home note poppy is not sleeping well due to the amount of fireworks being let off and of course me not being there all week is'nt helping her or vicky who is having to deal with it. They are both heading of to sidmouth tomorrow for poppy to go to a friends birthday party, with a bit of luck this may be a little break for both of them.

Can I start a new week please?

Life
The questioning mind of a 2yr old.

Why a collection of Geese is not Gooses?
Why wont my left welly boot wont go on my right foot?
Why is eating *chalk not a good thing? *insert beads, play dough, coal etc.
Why cant I go outside in just my wellys and my pajama top?
Why does the cat run away when I SCREAM and run towards it brandishing my hair brush?

The answering mind of a 28yr old.

Why is a collection of Geese not Gooses?
Where the hell are my welly boots?
God I used to love eating chalk.
Good question!
If I could fit through the cat flap I would.

Rock on!
After dong the Music meme yesterday I got a little nostalgic, Music wise. When I look back at my teen years one of the best "Phases" of my life was my rock phase, The music, the black, the leather jackets (yes I had a leather bikers jacket). Mostly though it is the music.

I still listen to a lot of rock and heavy metal and quite like a few of the bands out there. Lost prophets, Linkin park etc. But they don't fill me with the same feelings or make me want to rock out as much, guess it was the time in my life and all that. Well after a late night trawling around Youtube I thought I would put together a few of my faves and maybe spark some nostalgia in you lot.

Here they are:

Guns and roses:
Patience
November rain
Sweet child of mine
You could be mine
unfortunately I couldn't find night train which is my fave.

AC/DC:
Highway to hell
Thunderstruck
Dirty deeds done dirt cheap
TNT

Ugly kid Joe:
neighbor
So Damn Cool
Everything about you
Cats cradle

W.A.S.P:
Wild child
Last command or Headless children would have been favored.

Megadeath:
Symphony of destruction

The Almighty:
Free and easy

Sisters of mercy:
Temple of love

The Cult:
Rise

Skid row:

Big guns
Slave to grind
Youth gone wild

Anthrax:
Anti social
Black Sabbath:
Paranoid
Has to be!

One of the first rock bands I ever heard was Vixen and these two songs:
Crying
And Edge of a broken heart

That was closely followed by me raiding my dads tape collection and finding Deep purple:
Strange kind of woman and Smoke on the water.

I think my defining end came to my rock phase when I started listening to Bodycount:
Body count
Nesercary evil

But I think it was nailed almost shut when I started listening to NWA:
Straight out of Compton

Gimme a break I was 14.

I hope you have enjoyed this little trip down memory lane, C ya.

Music MEME.

Nicked from rob - now it's my turn!

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that’s playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don’t lie.

Here goes:

Waking Up:
"Trip through your wires" by U2 form the "Joshua tree" album.
Defiantly there best album.

First Day At School:
"Cant stop the rain" by Los Lobos off there "Colossal head" album

Playtime/Childhood:

"Cut up" by Neds atomic dustbin off there "Intact" album.
Considering one of the first few lines is "Your no wiser, Your no wiser…." This is rather apt.

Falling In Love:
"Slipstream" By Jethro Tull's "Aqualung".

Fight Song:

"The Joust" by The Mad Caddies off there "Duck and cover" album.
Freeky!!!!

Breaking Up:
"Two's up" by AC/DC on there "Blow up your video" album.
A bit of a rock anthem for a breakup.

Prom:
"Go Zone" by AC/DC on there "Blow up your video" album.
And it defiantly was.

Life's OK:
"Another fine Mess" By Skyclad on there "Another fine mess" album.
That's about right.

Mental Breakdown:

"Phat planet" by Leftfield off "Rhythm and stealth".
If im having a breakdown this is defiantly the track for it.

Driving:

"World looking in" by Morcheeba from there "Fragments of freedom" album.
"Angels smiling on my happiness……"
"don't stop just yet, we’ve got the world looking in…."

Flashback:
"You probably couldn't see for the lights but you were looking" by the Arctic monkeys on there "Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not" album .
Not ones for short titles are they.

Getting Back Together:

"Maneater" by W.A.S.P off there "Headless children" album.
Probably why I got back together with her, who ever she was.

Wedding:

"Firestarter" by Prodigy (Not sure which album)
Probably the reason im getting married.

Birth of Child:

"For whom the bell tolls" by W.A.S.P off there "Headless children" album.

Final Battle:

"Bring the noise" by Anthrax from there "Attack of the killer b's" album. Bring it on baby!!!!

Death Scene:

"Sun is shining" by Funstars deluxe club mix.

Funeral Song:

"Fire coming out of the monkeys head" By the Gorrilaz from there "Demon days" album.
That will do.

End Credits:
"Walk on the wild side" by Lou reed from "NYC man".

Not a bad soundtrack, but maybe not my ultimate.
