Hols again
Hello all
Well the mega post is on hold again as I am away, I have bought poppy up to my dads in Hastings for a couple of days, for a hol and to give vic a break from the rigors of motherhood.
We arrived on Tuesday and spent a nice eve in the garden.
Yesterday we went to middle farm for poppy to see the animals and she had a great time stroking the little chicks and looking at the lambs and calves but her highlight was the pig and the shire horse and foal. Today has been spent relaxing and taking pops to feed the ducks at a local pond.
It has been a lovely visit if not short and we have to make the trek back tomorrow as I have to work on Saturday.

I will upon my return post the 3rd part of the mega post and some photos of our trip to Cornwall for your entertainment and perusal.
I also want to remind you that I am still taking links for my links page so if any of you have found some interesting ones drop me a line and let me know the URL.

I have also noticed that my traffic has dropped off somewhat over the last few months along with some of the sites that I read. So I intend to start doing a bit of promotion upon my return and at least once a week post a short round up of all the sites I am reading in an attempt to get them a little more traffic.
I know that a lot of people have blogrolls, with huge lists of people they visit but I intend to only put the top 10 for that week in my post.
This is in an attempt to maybe give you all some sites that you may not have found, vary who I visit and also maybe attract other people to do the same in return. I know I visit sites that are not on any bodies blogroll’s but may interest some of my readers.
Just a thought.

Oh and I have decreed that:
All SUV drivers shall be shot on site!
Compulsory Driving tests should be introduced every 3 years!
And people who stick stupid flags out the top of there cars should be taken for mental evaluation.
As you can tell I had a bad journey up on Tuesday.

Mega post 2
PLAY>>>>

Hi all.
Well I'm back from my hol and it was fantastic I feel very relaxed and refreshed. No where was I....
Ahh yes film news.

A couple of other bits of stuff I have see recently are The spy game an older film yes but very good none the less and King Kong which I actually quite enjoyed, I felt that they stuck quite closely to the original (with out the cheesy reference to the twin towers of the colour remake) and the CGI was fantastic, although there were a couple of moments where it started to be too much.

Personal item:

Devil in a blue suit
Why is it when I see Condoleezza rice I always here this piece of music and see little devils with pitchforks, or is it just me?

Football also seems to feature quite a lot at the moment and vast quantities of companies have jumped on the band wagon to hock there shit. I'm afraid I'm still not going to buy it!

Music:

Edmund sent me a link to a cracking site, Knowing my love of the Hayseed dixies so I pick these 2 gems for you.
The ace of spades and a quick one.
Check em out they are cracking.

I also found this, Woodrow wilson's address to the American Indians
Rough translation: Face it your fucked.

News:

This I found a little scary, The hit and run is bad enough but read the second paragraph.

Email scams:

Ok the reason I am adding this in is because I have been getting a few forwards from people (who shall remain nameless) of emails that are scams so I have put together a little item.

No1. Tracking software:

Microsoft and AOL (insert company name) are NOT testing tracking software, there is no such thing.
They are not going to give you money.
Delete the email.
For more info go here or here.

No2. MSN closing down:

MSN is not closing down.
They have not run out of email addresses.
Delete this email
for more info go here or here.

For information on email scams go here, here or here.

That feels better.

PAUSE>>>>>

There is more but I am too tired so I will produce part 3 in the next few days along with some pics.

Woohooo

Release that inner child! wednesday we trundled off to Dobwalls family adventure park. For those of you who didn't have the pleasure of grownig up in cornwall and the excitment of Dobwalls let me tell you about it.
Steam trains! Little ones! no not teny tiny ones, ones that pull wooden horse carrage affairs that you sit on and ride around the woods, it's great.
Poppy had a great time on the trains and a massive rampage in the huge soft play area they have and had quite knackerd her self out by lunch time which gave vic and I a chance for a wander followed by an afternoon of more trains.
Back to trevina for a nice meal and nice conversation.
Yesterday was spent once again with family, vics this time and also with some shopping and an ice cream in fowey. It did however culminate in Sue babysitting while vic and I went out for a lovley meal in the evening.

On hold.

hello folks, im afraid that you are all going to have to wait with bated breath for the second part of my mega post as vic an I are taking a well earned break in sunny cornwall. We are making full use of Edmunds folks hospitality and chillin at Trevina, using it as our base of operations for this military manouver.
Part of the problem with this type of holiday is the shear quantity of crap that you have to bring with you, It's not the clothes it's the stuff. Cot,matress, books, toys and other general items that you don't think about until it actualy comes down to it.
Well the journey down yesterday was univentfull and dull as can be expected but it did culminate in a lovley afternoon in the garden playing with poppy.
This morning saw us trecking off to Truro to see my mum while on the road we decided to have a little listen to radio cornwall.
Only the cornish would be holding a robotic dance off, on the worlds largest beach towel, in the rain (dont ask).
Any way a nice day was had, poppy saw her first cow (a whole herd in fact) which ment we had half an hour of "more cow, more cow" from the back seat on the way back to trevina.
Well that's it for now will bore you with more tomorrow.

Mega post part 1
HULLO

No I'm not dead, I know astounding isn't it. I am alive I have just been very very slack.
There are reasons for my slackness which I shall go into shortly But firstly I would like to say a big thanks to my loyal readers who have stuck with me in this time of fasting, you are both very kind, Mad but kind.

Reasons for me not posting.
  1. Work: I have just finished work for the summer which was preceded by the Mayfest, 4 weeks of different shows every day, 6 days a week, split between two of us.
  2. Home: Trying to catch up on all the jobs around here that have been neglected (we still cant get into our spare room for unpacked boxes)
  3. Home 2: spending some time with vic and poppy.
  4. Commitments: basically moonlighting on another blog (blog game rather that will be unveiled later in the year)
I do now however have lots of wisdom to impart so gather around and listen to me. Are you sitting comfortably? Good because it's going to be a long one.

Gardening:

My garden is finally coming under control after my initial fight with a certain plant. IT as it shall be called is a Russian vine, Now if you have never come across a Russian vine before there are several simple rules:

1. don't stand to close for two long it is not nicknamed "Mile a minute" for nothing.
2. Employ the use of a gerkah platoon and several pounds of napalm to aid in it's removal.
3. Shoot instantly anyone who utters the words "a Russian vine would grow really well there".

Well it has now mostly been removed, Well what's on the top anyway and I have employed the use of a nasty root substance to kill off the rest. I have a feeling that it will be back.
In removing it however it did take half the fence and a small romanian family that got lost in there last winter. I now however have to add another job to the list, ho hum.

I other gardening related news my new composter has arrived from my local council, at half the price it would have cost me if I had bought it myself and I have installed the new water butt as the old one really was knackerd and leaking.
Poppy now has a sandpit in the garden which means that our garden is now a sandpit.

Continuing with the home section, the house is basically the same as before and still in a state of chaos but a little chink of order is starting to appear.
Sunday however was total chaos as it was poppy's 2nd birthday and off we trundled to Blaise castle for cake, playing and general sugar induced rampaging with some of her friends, Much fun was had by all.
Until Monday.
It seems that while running around making sure poppy was well covered with suntan lotion and hats I neglected to apply the same rule to myself and as such got a touch of heat stroke, which is always fun.
Poppy did however do rather well on the present front getting one of these for her birthday, among the rest of Toys r us (is it possible to get a backwards r on a keyboard). I can testify that it is ACE FUN.
However now she is 2 she is a bit like this.

Film news:

I have finally managed to watch a couple of films that I have been eager to see so here is my quick review.
Underworld Evolution: A nice round up to the first film using a suitable amount of blood, vampires, werewolves, fancy hardware and Kate Bekinsale in and out of skin tight leather, What more could you ask for.
Doom: Hmmmm a good reason why games should not be made into films.
V for vendetta: A good reason why some comics should.

and finally it would seem that they have remade one of my all time fave films The Omen has been updated now good or bad thing we shall see as a lot of the originals charm is down to the lack of "Hollywood magic" that is in nearly every film. So I shall wait and reserve judgment.

PAUSE>>>>>

Ok I think that is enough for today and I shall let you catch your breath, make a cuppa and I will be back with more in the next day or so.

Catch ya later.
